Boundless Sky

I long to be where the sky is enormous and full of sunshine again, so I’m making painting of that place. It’s so nice to know what you want and where you want to be!


A wise woman recently told me that we’re allowed to enjoy ourselves now “more than ever before” and that sounds like great news to me!

THERE’S A HOLE IN MY SIDEWALK
Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
Chapter One
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.

Walking around among the red rocks of Sedona is magical. I don’t think it’s because there is said to be a vortex here, either. Southwestern landscapes are awesome and beautiful. Your spirit cannot help itself, it wants to soar as you look out over red knobs of rock against the blue sky…


Working on a task that you enjoy can be very energizing, but what if you do that enjoyable task while sitting still in front of a computer for hours and hours on end? Do you need to light both a mental and physical fire in order to feel charged?


At home I got out the watercolors and started playing around with color and this painting resulted. Looks a lot like the desert and that’s where I’m headed in 5 days. I guess my subconscious mind couldn’t wait that long. Making a painting of a place is a lot like actually going there.


It’s cool when you see the new green leaves coming up out of the ground. So cool. But even better is when those plants send out a bloom! The riot of color, the fragrance, the tender delicate petals, the stamen… it’s totally thrilling! I believe each of us has the capacity to bloom in the same way.


In our life there is a single color, as on an artist’s palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love.
