One thing I do know for sure: it feels great to draw a scene while you’re actually sitting in it, especially with the sun on your shoulders and the sound of surf in your ears. (You might also hear ladies talking a blue streak, gulls crying, and kids screeching.) You get to know your subject in such an intimate way.
